10:27pm: Fuck you, LJ.
What happened to our god damned First Amendment (for us Americans)? Being a bisexual and seeing "bisexual" as a censored interest, I take heavy offense to this censoring. On the internet or off, I will not tolerate such an outright ignorance of LGBT rights, whether they be mine or anyone else's. You had damned well know what sort of bad publicity censoring words having to do with homosexuality and bisexuality will bring - and it's not going to be pretty. And is fan fiction the new scourge that is going to poison the masses? (Why does this sound an awful lot like the Red Scare? Loyalty oaths, anyone?) I'm sorry, but as a fiction writer, not just of fan fiction, I again take great offense. Where's our freedom of speech, you morons? One more thing - why the fuck aren't we allowed to choose free Basic accounts anymore? As a role player, I find that it is rather difficult to bring in new characters without having to charge money to my credit card that just happens to not even fucking exist. All of this- WITH NO ANNOUNCEMENTS MADE TO THE USERS? WHAT THE FUCK WERE YOU THINKING THE USERS WOULD DO?Give us our rights back, Live Journal. You should know that you've lost my (free) membership and any form of respect for you.

12:02pm: I went to Projekt Revolution, and it was
Fucking. Awesome.
When we got there, we just missed Styles of Chaos because we were waiting in line and throwing out soda cans and stuff. But we did get there in time to get into the mosh pit and see Madina Lake on the smaller Revolution stage.
Mmkay, Madina Lake was just amazing. Nathan jumped into the crowd and I held his hand! <3 I was also thiiiiiiiiis close to catching Matt's water bottle, but the guy next to me was way taller and jumped for it. ; o;
Then came The Bled [and by then, the mosh pit was pretty riled up], and James jumped into the crowd. I held his hand too! :3 During this time, my friend went and surfed the crowd, which was pretty fun for him.
When Saosin came on, things were pretty damn wild, and they started a fucking HUGE circle pit. My friend was really close to catching a drumstick that Justin threw, but the guy behind him got it.
At that point, I was really really dehydrated, so I went to get out of the mosh pit before I passed out. I did stick around to hear Mindless Self-Indulgence, but didn't really get into it because of my lightheadedness and funky vision.
Then we went to the lawn to get a good spot for the main performances, and at that point, I realized I had a heatstroke. x 3x;; I ended up just slugging out the headache for a while.
What was really funny is that Trojan Condoms had a booth at the thing, and they were giving out condoms everywhere. My friend was walking by it when he went to go get a Monster drink, and they threw one at him. If you must know, it was the "Her Pleasure" kind. By the time we were on the lawn, people were inflating the condoms and hitting them around like beach balls [which were getting thrown around too], which was really funny when people would try and scoot away from it when it came towards them.
First was Julien-K, which I really liked. The synth part of them really reminded me of The Killers, but better and gone alternative metal, which I liked a lot. Brandon, their main synth player, was also really hot. :3
Then came Placebo, which I hadn't listened to before this, but I also liked. Their singer was a little too high pitched for my tastes, but I think they had a really good sound overall.
HIM was next, and by this time I was starting to feel pukey from the heatstroke. I ended up throwing up a few times [luckily, I'd only eaten a couple granola bars and Rice Krispie Treats, so it was nothing horrible], but hell, I felt better afterwards. HIM kinda disappointed me in that they didn't do anything with the crowd, instead their singer was smoking and having a couple drinks onstage. But they did play Wings of a Butterfly, which everyone loved. :]
Taking Back Sunday came as I was trying to recover from the headache, so I wasn't doing anything too crazy, but I still liked them. MakeDamnSure sounded really good live.
Then My Chemical Romance came on, and I swear the place practically exploded. Their opening was really strong, and followed up really smoothly with The Sharpest Lives [which is my second favorite song from them]. I have to say, though, Gerard really knows how to work the cameras and the crowd, and it was just amazing. They also encouraged people to jump the guardrails and stuff and come up to the stage, which is just awesome to me.
Linkin Park did the most awesome stuff of the day, I swear. Since it was already nightfall by the time they started, they turned out all the lights except the screens and stage lights, and started with No More Sorrow, which is good for an opener. I can't remember the order now because I was too busy being entertained, but I do remember that What I've Done came somewhere in the middle, and One Step Closer and Faint were near the end. A couple of the really cool things they did were starting Breaking The Habit as just Chester singing with Mike playing piano, and Joe getting to do a little improv mixing and stuff. The best part was that before starting Shadow Of The Day, they told everyone to turn on their lighters, cell phones, etc., so that there was just light everywhere, and with the night and being outdoors, it was just beautiful to see this huge wall of people with light. Apparently they had tech issues with Shadow Of The Day because the bass loop wasn't playing, and I quote Mike, "Fuck the loop, we're doing this off the record." That kind of flexibility is just awesome.
At the end, Chester jumped into the crowd, and my friend shook hands with both him and Mike while surfing the crowd, while being filmed. I called us even, but he said that getting both Madina Lake and The Bled's singers was cooler.
So I was swept off my feet from 12 noon to 12 midnight, and just thoroughly impressed by what I saw here. I have a souvenir shirt [Linkin Park on the front, tour dates on the back], of course, but the one with all the bands on it sold out. Ah well.
My voice isn't as hoarse as I thought it'd be, but my right arm and my neck are really sore, and I think I lost weight. I also gained a two-pack [YEAYUH] of abs and less stomach, as well as my first moshing experience for 4 hours straight.

5:40pm: Son of a... [major rant, profanity warning]
Secondary Special Education [aka Speech Therapy] for my new high school just sent a letter, which means I'm stuck in speech therapy. Again. For the eighth fucking year straight. I DON'T HAVE A FUCKING LISP ANYMORE, GOD DAMNIT! THERE IS NO FUCKING SPACE FOR THE FUCKING AIR TO GET OUT ANYMORE! MY MOLARS FUCKING GREW IN, AND MY TEETH HAVE PERFECT FUCKING ALIGNMENT! IS IT REALLY THAT FUCKING HARD TO UNDERSTAND? I am sick of having those little word lists, all the sessions with kids in braces and retainers and severely misaligned teeth that might have needed it, when all I had was TEETH GROWING IN, not some bullshit problem with putting my tongue in the right place. Fucking morons. I'm gonna need to have a little chat with them once the year starts.

6:54pm: "Honey, if you stay, I'll be forgiven."
Yes, it's My Chemical Romance. No, I am not in love with Gerard Way. Their new album was the only one that remotely appealed to me, actually. But I still think they need a better singer. The song "Teenagers" also made me laugh, so it was a keeper. But anyway. Drama time.
This is one of those times where I really, really, really wish my dad understood the fact that when a deal is gone, it's gone. G-o-n-e. He seems to think otherwise, that the $141 tablet on Amazon's going to come back when it said "Limited time offer". $141, of course, not counting the California state tax and shipping, which both work to screw over our wallets, which we all just love oh-so-much. </sarcasm> The cheapest I found on the internet after a lot of Google and link after link was $161.69 after tax (cheaper than Amazon's offer for the product alone, without tax and shipping!) and shipping costs, and what does he say? "Wait a few more days, there'll be a a cheaper one!" I don't think he realizes that I've been doing said Google searches for ages now since I wanted to get a tablet at all. My mom's completely out of the loop because she doesn't give a damn about my art, instead she's telling me to do the AP European History homework that both done and not due until the end of effing August. And anyway, I probably would've been better off doing it in August, says my best friend's fellow Honor Roll smarty-pants AP-course-taking almost-Senior older brother. Who is actually in high school. Unlike my 38-year-old workaholic yet self-absorbed mother.
I think he's just too optimistic. I'm not a pessimist, for clarification, but a realist. And really irritated after receiving a tablet that didn't work and having to send it back. And while I'm at it, these endorphins aren't kicking in fast enough. More chocolate is needed.
